Youth & Children’s Work

Jesus had a special concern for children – and they really matter at Redland. On Sundays, there are activities on Sunday mornings ranging from crèche for babies & toddlers through to Impact for Years 7 & 8 (11-13 year olds).  CYFA, our church youth group for Years 9-13, meets at 6pm before the Ignite evening service. There are also activities during the week, with cell groups for CYFA members on alternate Monday evenings and J-Zone and The Zone fortnightly youth clubs on Friday evenings.

The highlight of our church year is the first week of the school summer holidays when we run the Chat-a-Box holiday club for children in Years 2-6 and C2 for Years 7 & 8.

Redland Education Centre

Redland Education Centre was set up by the church to offer support to local schools in their delivery of the RE syllabus and to provide excellent resources that could be used by churches and schools within and beyond Bristol. It is led by Lydia Lodge. For details of the REC staff team, click here. For details of the work that REC does in schools, click here.

Child Protection Statement

At Redland Parish Church we take seriously the safety and wellbeing of all children (birth to 18) whilst in our care. We work in partnership with families and the Diocese of Bristol to ensure that all children and young people feel safe, and are protected from harm. We aim to ensure that during the recruitment of leaders and helpers the appropriate checks are made, including an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check (formerly Criminal Records Bureau enhanced disclosure) on all over 18s. Our detailed child protection policy and guidelines, based on the second edition of ‘Safe and Sound’, the Diocese of Bristol’s guidelines for good practice in the care of children and young people, can be seen by clicking here. A copy is also available for inspection in the church office or by contacting our Child Safeguarding Adviser. The Child Safeguarding Adviser is Margaret Matthews. If you would like some advice or have any cause for concern, please contact Margaret (tel: 0117 924 3350.)
